Defending Jacob is a crime-drama-mystery mini-series starring Chris Evans (I bet he knows who hehehe). Chris Evan or Andy Barber will play a father who fights to protect his child who is accused of being a murderer.

Synopsis:

Set in a city in America, a successful lawyer Andy Barber, must accept the bitter truth after his son Jacob Barber (Jaeden Martell) was made a suspect in a murder case that befell his schoolmate.

Jacob was accused of killing after he was known to have a knife that was believed to be a tool to kill his friend. One thing that made the situation worse was the direct accusation made by Jacob's friend, Derek who accused him of blatantly on social media. As a result, Andy and his wife Laurie (Michell Dockery) struggle desperately to prove that Jacob is innocent.

Together with experienced lawyer Joanna Klein (Cherry Jones), Andy tries to collect pieces of evidence to save Jacob.

A little review of this series:

So this series is exclusive for Apple TV + users and this series amounts to 8 Episodes. The drama series, directed by Morten Tyldum, is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by William Landay. So for those of you who have read the novel, you must watch the series version.

At the beginning of the episode we were introduced to the Barber family who have a harmonious family. Barber has a child named Jacob who is played by Jaeden Martell (that's an IT film actor). Well, this Jacob looks like a normal teenager and can socialize. He also has several friends at school.

But problems began when the body of a teenager who died in a forest area was discovered. After an inspection, Jacob's fingerprints were found on the corpse.

Here Jacob (Jaeden Martell) has a very cool acting acting, his emotions are really good and very good at showing his psychological side which is being shaken due to being accused of being a murderer and being ostracized by his friends, until finally Jacob has to homeschool.

This series, having a plot back and forth, is now shown in the courtroom, when Andi Barber is asked several questions by prosecutor Neal Logiudice (Pablo Schreiber) regarding the murder incident involving Jacob. Then the flashback to the day before the murder and the day after the murder when the Barber family's life became abysmally.

To be honest, in this series there are a lot of dialogues, but thanks to Morten Tyldum, the series is very well packaged and not boring. Many things can be enjoyed, such as the course of the trial and the investigation process.
